The glazed wall tile is made of stoneware and is particularly characterized by its wood look. Thanks to this special look, the tile can be ideally used as wall cladding anywhere indoors. The material of the tile is made of stoneware, which is fine ceramic. Since this is a very soft material, the tile can only bear light loads and is not used on the floor.
Advantages of wall cladding:
- Easy to process: Thanks to the material properties, the tile is easy to process. This applies to both cutting and laying.
- Easy care: The dirt-repellent glaze makes the wall tiles very easy to clean. They are therefore well protected from stains.
- Area of application: The tiles are often laid in the bathroom or shower. Due to the glaze on the surface, wall tiles can also be easily used in the kitchen or living area.
- Good adhesion: Due to the large-pored and therefore rough surface on the back, the wall tile interlocks particularly well with the tile adhesive and adheres well to the wall.
- White-body: Due to the raw materials used in production, the tile body is white. This is the back of the tiles. White-body tiles are particularly characterized by their good quality.
Edge processing:
- Rectified: The fine stoneware tile is pressed into shape during production. This creates a slightly angled edge. In rare cases these edges are uniform. Therefore, they are processed with a diamond saw during the rectification process. Many uneven areas can be removed and an edge with a 90° angle is created. This process makes it possible to lay the tiles with very small joints starting from 2mm.
Surface treatment:
- Glazed: By applying a glass-like compound to the surface of the tile, a smooth surface is achieved. The glaze also serves as a protective layer for the tiles. This makes them resistant to dirt, stains and acids. The glaze is particularly suitable for tiles on walls and floors in living areas. If stoneware tiles are to be laid in the bathroom or kitchen, a glaze is absolutely necessary as it also protects the tiles from water.
