The glazed wall tile is made of stoneware and is particularly characterized by its uni design. The properties of the material make it suitable for laying on walls in indoor areas. Stoneware is fine ceramics. Since this is a very soft material, the tile can only bear light loads and is not used on the floor.
Advantages of the wall tile:
- Easy to process: Thanks to the material properties, the tile is easy to process. This applies to both cutting and laying.
- Easy care: The dirt-repellent glaze makes the wall tiles very easy to clean. They are therefore well protected from stains.
- Area of application: The tiles are often laid in the bathroom or shower. Thanks to the glaze on the surface, wall tiles can also be easily used in the kitchen or living area.
- Good adhesion: Due to the large-pored and therefore rough surface on the back, the wall tile interlocks particularly well with the tile adhesive and adheres well to the wall.
- White-body: Due to the raw materials used in production, the tile body is white. This is the back of the tiles. White-body tiles are particularly characterized by their good quality.
Edge processing:
Pressed: The tile is pressed into shape during production. This creates a slightly angled edge. This type of edge processing is particularly suitable for laying with larger joints. The reason for this is that the edges are not as sharp as is the case with rectified edge processing. It is therefore recommended to work with joint crosses when laying.
Surface treatment:
Glazed: By applying a glass-like compound to the surface of the tile, a smooth surface is achieved. The glaze also serves as a protective layer for the tiles. This makes them resistant to dirt, stains and acids. The glaze is particularly suitable for tiles on walls and floors in living areas. If stoneware tiles are to be laid in the bathroom or kitchen, a glaze is absolutely necessary as it also protects the tiles from water.
