The bed is equipped with a removable snail edge. This means your plants are safely protected from snail infestation.

Working with a raised bed is not only extremely productive, thanks to the comfortable working height it also protects your back and knee joints and is therefore ergonomically valuable.
Fill the raised bed correctly
The correct layering of your raised bed is extremely important for a high-yield harvest. Because the perfect arrangement guarantees optimal nutrient absorption by the plants. There are four layers - from bottom to top:
- At the very bottom, roughly 25 cm high, roughly 25 cm of tree or hedge cuttings are filled in, i.e. branches and twigs. Wood chips are also an option. This layer ensures that enough air gets to the other filling materials from below and that waterlogging does not form.
- Autumn leaves, grass clippings or fine shredded material form the next layer. Thickness: about 20cm. Important. Compact the first two layers well, otherwise the contents will collapse quite quickly as they rot. If desired, then lay down sod with the roots facing upwards so that nothing trickles down from top to bottom. This step can also be omitted.
- This was followed by a layer of coarse compost soil, mixed with some leaves.
- The last and top layer is a high-quality flower, plant or special raised bed soil. With the raised bed, nothing stands in the way of an individual design according to your wishes.
Numerous plants and vegetables thrive faster in a raised bed and produce a larger harvest. The reason for this is the higher nutrient balance and the overall more favorable microclimate. The heat released during the rotting process makes the growing phase longer. With a little experience and the appropriate accessories, two harvests are even possible.
To attach the snail protection, 16 holes must be drilled in the raised bed, which requires a suitable drill.
