Poplar plywood is a very popular material. The panels are light, bright, soft and, for plywood, a cheap, easy-to-work material. Poplar plywood panels are suitable for a variety of DIY and craft projects. The poplar plywood is untreated and not artificially bleached and can be individually finished.
Note: Always treat with paint or varnish on both sides to avoid warping of the wood. The veneer quality corresponds to B/BB. (Class II/III). The poplar plywood is subject to tolerances in thickness according to DIN EN 315. Therefore, falling below -(0.4 + 3%) and exceeding +(0.8 + 3%) in the respective thickness class are technically possible and do not constitute a reason for complaint. What does B/BB or Class II/III mean?
- B or II side: may naturally have color deviations. Healthy, firmly grown branches up to 35 mm are permitted. Cracks in the surface are permitted if shorter than 1/5 of the board length and not wider than 5 mm. However, these are carefully putty. Ingrown bark is permitted up to a width of 5 mm when filled. Minor irregularities in the wood structure are permissible.
- BB or III side: due to nature, there may be major color deviations. Healthy, firmly grown branches up to 50 mm are permitted. Cracks in the surface are permitted if shorter than 1/3 of the board length and not wider than 20 mm. These have been putty. Ingrown bark is permitted up to a width of 25 mm. Irregularities in the wood structure are permitted.
